International Publicity Assistant
Filmed Entertainment Group
Role Summary:
The Publicity Assistant, Universal Pictures International will work with the International Theatrical Department which oversees the marketing and distribution of Universal Pictures theatrical releases outside of North America.  The individual will need to be able to multi-task, take initiative to start new projects, and interact effectively with other employees in the international theatrical marketing and distribution department, the domestic marketing and distribution departments, and international theatrical offices around the globe.

Essential Responsibilities:
Answering phones
Processing department invoices for payment
Scheduling meetings
Completing Expense Reports
Scheduling executive travel
Assisting in the execution of junkets, press days, set visits, special events, premieres, and press tours
Coordinating talent and filmmaker travel (cars, flights, hotel, etc.)
Negotiating hair, make-up and styling rates
Creating talent and filmmaker schedules
Creating materials for publicity presentations
Maintaining and updating the international publicity database and press website
Internet research for various projects on films
Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in the entertainment industry, specifically marketing, public relations, distribution or promotions
Prior experience working in film publicity
Ability to work well with others both internally and externally on all publicity needs
Flexibility to work on multiple tasks at any given time
Strong written and communication skills at all levels
Excellent computer skills, including the Internet
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft based software: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelors degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field is required

Eligibility Requirements:

Availability to work screenings and press junkets which occur on some nights and weekends
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be willing to join the L174 union
Availability to travel domestic and international for events
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Desired Characteristics
Proficiency in additional languages a plus
Have exceptional follow through and see projects to completion
