About this position:
Inventory Control Analyst in the Material Service Department of HAM Purchasing Operations. Responsible for total part management for assigned parts including inventory control, design change, rejections, build out, and new model set up. Ensure uninterrupted production guaranteeing part availability by utilizing inventory control systems to trouble shoot variances, shortages, supplier miss-shipments, etc.
Inventory Management: Daily investigation, Analysis and countermeasure based off of inventory variances, cycle count results and short sheet or mis-shipments.
Responsible for total part management for assigned parts. Inventory control, Design Change, Rejection, Build Out, New Model set up.
Delivery Inventory system management. Utilize inventory control systems to troubleshoot variances, shortages, supplier mis-shipments, etc…
Project Management - Rejections, Service, Japan Supply, Build Out, Physical Inventory, Design Change, First Time Build, Cycle Count, Cage Liaison, etc…
Daily interface with CLC department leads as needed.
Train / Mentor new associates as needed.
Review previous shift report for potential production impact or follow up requests.
Support Daily team and plant meetings.
Support Production, Process, Packaging sections of Material Service and Purchasing Division as needed to support daily production.
Support special department and group level project activities.
Complete daily shift report communication.
What you need to be successful in the role:
Broad understanding of Material Service parts flow and delivery systems from a production aspect and broad understanding of both Assembly and Weld.
Understanding of GPCS
Ability to utilize problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to analyze data to understand discrepancy
Ability to make sound logical decisions
Proactive: Positive approach to daily roles and responsibility
Team oriented approach
Ability to learn
Broad range of computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
Project management experience or capability
Strong communication Capabilities (able to communicate to a diverse audience)
Ability to lead meetings and department level themes
Ability to multi-task
Be motivated and self-driven requiring minimal direction
Reliable and flexible
Required Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 months of relevant work experience (co-op/internship preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree related to Material Handling, Purchasing, Packaging or Logistics or equivalent based on experience.
A few other important details:
Support 2nd shift as needed.
Work with both Honda unique and industry standard systems to investigate and countermeasure inventory related concerns.
Use a team oriented, hands on approach to work through various challenges and utilize good communication skills to present to diverse audiences
