IoT Product Manager - Edge Services Strategy & Eco System
San Jose, California

What You'll Do
We are looking for a highly motivated product manager who is passionate about IoT and loves being hands on defining the product and working closely with engineering teams and product marketing teams. You would be part of the new formed and growing ‘IoT Edge’ product team. In this exciting role, you will be empowered to make a difference, establish a reputation, and position yourself for continued growth.
Role & Responsibilities
Market Analysis, Business Modelling & Eco System Development
Understand IoT value chain and identify key positioning for Cisco’s IoT edge product portfolio/capabilities.
Develop value based pricing and business model that will help lay foundation for scaling Cisco’s Edge compute product/capabilities
Define a winning strategy and product positioning in an undefined market segment and evolving competitive landscape
Build an eco-system program that involves defining mutually beneficial terms and a simple process to on-boarding, integrate and certify partners
Build and maintain partnership with key device makers in different industries
Build and maintain partnership with key cloud technology providers to complete the IoT offering for customer
Analyze market trends to identify the mid and long term business opportunity
Interwork with Technical Marketing Engineers to lead competitive analysis
Track the product(s) P&L, revenue, new business and profitability including competitive pricing of the product(s) in the marketplace to achieve desired sales volumes/optimized profit
Product Development
Work with Engineering team to finalize the technical detail of the roadmap items
Partner with engineering to define user stories, scoping the stories and backlog grooming.
Product Launch
Lead product launch activity to promote new products to customer/partner/account team
Support marketing events which promote the product, maximizing visibility to the field
Develop selling resources for partner and Cisco account team
Who You'll Work WIth
Cisco's Internet of Things (IoT) Group builds intelligent networks and software platforms for many different IoT applications. IoT Edge team’s charter, as part of Cisco's broader Internet of Things initiative, is to develop IoT edge computing HW+SW portfolio that capitalize on the trend toward all devices, machines, and vehicles becoming connected and smart.
Who Are You
Minimum Qualifications
CS/EE/BS Degree or equivalent in addition to 7-9 years of overall work experience with a strong background in systems engineering, product development and/or product management.
Understanding of end to end IoT stack from things to application and everything in between from cloud to edge.
Understanding of protocols like MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS/JSON
Knowledge of Azure IoT, AWS IoT is a plus.
Experience with Azure, AWS is a plus.
Must have strong understanding of the product development life cycle process
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, strong problem solving ability and high level of dedication
Experienced in leading cross-functional project and teams
Educational Qualifications
CS/EE/BS Degree or equivalent.
MBA is highly desired
