We are seeking a IT Architect Lead - Telecommute responsible for ensuring the stable operation of critical middleware infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving incidents, monitoring and forecasting capacity needs and manage the construction of new environments and upgrades. The IT Architect Lead works with a diverse range of applications and technology teams, acting as the primary point of contact for internal consumers and providers of company data; and contributes to the ongoing operations of many technologies with a focus on the use and management of CA Layer7 API Management. The primary responsibilities include: developing security policies with CA Layer7 or Datapower to enforce API security; working with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and integration providing API security architecture; providing hands on administration of UnitedHealth Group’s Enterprise Service Bus application; administering the integration of Layer7 API management devices with web service applications to provide security and transformation services; supporting deployment and promotion of Layer7 services, including enhancements and automation of the deployment process; providing incident and problem management and troubleshooting of enterprise service bus; incident management; functions as first line of support during business hours to analyze, triage, and resolve or route problem reports; manages and executes plans for service recovery and problem mitigation; planning, tracking and executing maintenance activities surrounding the Enterprise Service Bus; monitoring infrastructure for early identification of potential issues; documenting and tracking changes to production, testing and development environments; forecasting and planning for additional capacity needs; designing and implementing the hardware environment for a suite of middleware applications; suggesting and implementing cost saving resource optimizations; and working within a managed services organization to install and deployed packaged software applications that augment the enterprise middleware. Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact; knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions; and incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs. Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans); ensure API security standards are implemented; and identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed. Use experience with XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL and WSDL. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5 years related progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Will accept experience gained concurrently.
Must have 3 years demonstrated ability with each of the following: (1) Developing security policies with CA Layer7 or Datapower to enforce API security; (2) Providing API Security Architecture; (3) Experience with API Security patterns using Oauth 2.0 and other modern patterns; (4) Experience with at least 2 of the following: XML, XML Schemas, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, WADL and WSDL; and (5) Experience working with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and integration. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.
