This position is responsible for Corporate program management and leadership of Abbott's program for compliance with IT aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, which requires documentation, testing and assessment of internal controls over financial reporting. The position has broad exposure to Abbott IT systems and personnel up through and including executive IT management. This position leads and/or assists with Corporate Sox Program Management Office (PMO) IT functions including: program planning, scoping and scheduling; communication with Corporate functions and divisions; updating, maintaining and managing program tools (including Archer, Risk Control Tracking System and the Sox PMO SharePoint site); support of Corporate and Division IT Sox program activities; monitoring of program status and schedule; management and resolution of issues; review of internal control deficiencies; providing guidance for the evaluation and remediation of deficiencies; monitoring of remediation activities; and determination of readiness for review by internal and external auditors.
This position has visibility to key strategic initiatives across the company involving IT. The position will develop, communicate and oversee implementation of changes considered necessary as a result of such developments, consistent with the company's overall Section 404 program strategy. As such, the Sarbanes-Oxley IT Program Manager will serve as the primary PMO contact and resource for IT management within Corporate functions (primarily BTS) and divisions for ongoing support and guidance. The successful IT Program Manager will learn the key functions and/or strategic importance of key applications and system platforms used across the company. Position will have significant interaction with IT management across Abbott’s IT organization, up through and including executive IT management, and with Abbott's internal and external auditors. This position will also interact with financial management due to their reliance on IT controls.
This position requires a minimum of 7-10 years progressive IT experience. IT auditing experience or prior Sarbanes-Oxley experience is required. Candidates must have strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with senior IT management. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks and work in a dynamic environment.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology/Accounting/Finance. CISA or CPA is a plus.
