Provides direction, leadership and management of all scientific regulatory; marketing, compliance and customer support activities for a product family and/or processes. Accomplishes goals related to expanded internal investigations, expanded complaint investigations, design control, new product development, product availability and financial performance. Fosters continuous improvement. Plans and supports financial, capital, and human resource needs. Actively supports the personal and professional development of individuals. Acts as a liaison to management and associated functional groups. Accountable for internal/external customer satisfaction.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Leads/facilitates problem solving within team and across functional areas. Supports product availability through management of investigations and completion of technical projects. Demonstrates an understanding and appropriate application of basic problem-solving models and tools. Analyzes trend data from a variety of sources. Facilitates determination of root causes and develops plans to resolve problems. Anticipates and avoids reoccurrences. Prioritizes and allocates resources to ensure timely resolution. Eliminates organizational barriers. Facilitates maintenance of documents such as DHF,
VMP, and FMEA to ensure product knowledge/history is maintained. May perform other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
Sphere of Influence: Leadership and mentorship of a group of approximately 4-10 exempt employees.
Product Scope: Accountable for a product or product family, delivery technology(s), and/or processes at one or more sites. Provides any needed support to manufacturing and testing areas.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures effective GMP/ISO practices within the team.
Goal Accomplishment: Translates organizational goals into team goals and establishes systems to meet goals.
Financial: Accountable for budget performance within the area. Plans and supports budget and updates; recommends plans to resolve resource and financial gaps.
Decision Making: Makes timely scientific, operational, and business decisions. Appropriately elevates high-risk decisions.
Customer Relationships: Cultivates relationships with internal and external customers and develops strong networks throughout the company and industry.
Self-Development: Identifies personal and professional development objectives and plans to achieve them.
Bachelor's degree with typically 9 years of experience in a related technical discipline. Advanced degree(s) may offset required years of experience.
Required experience includes leading others at multiple levels in project management, product development and/or launch, crisis management, and customer interactions; proven ability to develop others; knowledge and understanding of business metrics. Highly desirable experience includes multiple products, and platforms; experience with resource planning, and personnel administration.
