ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

To support the workers’ compensation program, the claims payment system, accounting operations and the safety program.

·Perform workers’ compensation training to City departments including documentation requirements, compensation documentation process, document distribution, and reporting requirements.

·Provide internal and external customer service regarding basic workers’ compensation issues to employees, workers’ compensation adjusters and medical providers.

·Schedule appointments, coordinate meeting, maintain calendar and make travel arrangements for Risk Manager.

·Organize and maintain divisional files, provide support to Risk Management Division as needed.

·Conduct check runs in the claims management system.

·Process all recoveries as deposits for workers’ compensation, general liability and all for the self-insurance funds.

·Review safety concerns to ensure they work within the parameters of their medical limitations.

·May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·Requires a High School Diploma or GED

·Minimum of two (2) years of related experience

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Closing Statement

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
