Job Responsibilities/Duties


The Effluent Treatment Facility (ETF) Operations Manager leads the Operations organization, which consists of approximately 8 Shift Managers and 40 Operators. The ETF is a 24/7 operating radiological facility that receives, treats and disposes of liquid effluents from on-site projects. The position focuses on Conduct of Operations while maintaining a safe work place that is compliant with facility and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include effective management of day and rotating shift staff, scheduling and integration, and overall accountability for compliant operations as needed to ensure mission objectives are successful. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:


*Manage all aspects of ETF Operations in accordance with established WRPS priorities, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.


*Provide integration information to company level schedules.


*Interface with other organizations to ensure schedules and resources are aligned for maintaining compliant and mission essential schedules.


*Accountable for personnel safety based on the principle of "Target Zero" injuries


*Maintain awareness of plant status and field work


*Maintain awareness of material status.


*Monitor Operational effectiveness and recommend improvements


*Ensure work is authorized and completed in a timely fashion


*Ensure ETF Operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and company programs, policies and procedures.


*Facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change and process improvements within the workplace


*Develop effective working relationships with Bargaining Unit and non-bargaining unit personnel, demonstrating mutual respect and cooperation


*Set high standards of performance for self and others


*Manage resource allocation as needed to meet company schedules


*Manage Corrective Actions in the issues management system.


*Ensure that responses to abnormal event are conducted and reported appropriately


Required Qualifications


BA/BS and 12-15 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; with at least 3 of these years with experience managing craft and/or union personnel.


Desired Qualifications


Experience with Nuclear Operations either on a Department of Energy site or commercial site.


Previous experience with DOE, DNFSB staff and regulators desirable.


Previous experience with the Effluent Treatment Facility desirable.
