Job Overview An outstanding opportunity to manage Qualcomms talented maintenance team and take responsibility for ensuring that our Gulfstream G650 fleet is maintained to the highest industry standards and is readily available to meet our demanding international flight schedule. Responsibilities include:
Supervises the maintenance personnel in an employee-friendly and safety conscious work environment.
Schedules maintenance technicians to make best use of available personnel, including training and development opportunities.
Ensures all aircraft are airworthy, placing the safety of passengers and flight crew as primary priority.
Ensures company aircraft are maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Ensures maintenance, inspections, repairs and aircraft serving is performed in accordance with all FAA, manufacturer and company requirements.
Ensures that aircraft discrepancies are properly diagnosed and corrected in a timely manner maximizing aircraft availability.
Removes unsafe aircraft or aircraft that do not comply with regulatory requirements from service, regardless of the impact to Qualcomms traveling executives.
Maintains a high level of expertise in world-wide regulatory compliance, policies, processes and the maintenance groups Standard Operating Procedures.
Establishes and maintains aircraft maintenance records required by FAA regulations, manufacturer recommendations and company policy.
Promotes technical training and professional (soft skills) development for all maintenance personnel.
In collaboration with the maintenance technicians provides plans, schedules and budgets for all aircraft maintenance and asset preservation.
Coordinates scheduled maintenance with Scheduling and Dispatch to maximize aircraft availability.
Develops an annual maintenance budget and monitors expenditures to identify deviations.
Maintains an approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and ensures that maintenance and flight crew understand and comply with MEL requirements
Embraces the latest industry trends and changes impacting aircraft maintenance and operations.
Reviews and recommends product enhancements for Qualcomm aircraft and provides input on special projects.
Manages the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the hangar facility.
Assists with OSHA and EPA compliance requirements.
Sets performance expectations and conduct evaluations for maintenance personnel.
All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company.
Minimum Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) certification.
5+ years of business aircraft maintenance technician experience required, to include experience in a corporate aviation environment.
2+ years maintaining long-range corporate jets in international flight operations.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of supervisory experience.
Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
Certified Aviation Manager (CAM).
Master Technician certification.
Highly experienced in FAA FAR Part 91 international flight operations as a maintainer of Gulfstream large-cabin aircraft.
Experience leading a team through change management processes wherein success improves the overall efficiency and quality of services provided to all stakeholders (alignment and value creation).
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
Education Requirements Required: High school graduate
Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree
