Designs and plans factory layout for such activities as wafer fabrication, component assembly, component sort, PCB assembly, or Systems assembly. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect production performance. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies. Provides guidance to product engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
Factory Engineering team within Substrate Packaging Technology Development (SPTD) is looking for engineers on compressed work week schedule (CWW) to join the organization that is responsible for developing substrate & die embedding manufacturing technology and sustain low volume production. Engineers on this team will own baseline and engineering content execution on a 24x7 schedule working in close partnership with Module Engineering/Tool owners, Integration as well as Operations
Bachelor degree in any of these engineering disciplines - Materials/Mechanical/Chemical engineering or Chemistry/Physical science.
Preferred qualifications include:
- experience in statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE) principles
- knowledge of semiconductor packaging process
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with peers, engineering and customers.
- Candidate must be flexible and capable of handling multi-task operations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
- Must be a self-starter capable of managing own activities as well as supporting team activities.
