Responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the Sales Team in assigned markets, to deliver the revenue budget while maximising return on invested cost of sale. The Manager, Market Planning & Analysis will ensure coordination and alignment of strategic principles within the Region as well as act as a key interface with the Head Office (Revenue Management, Global Sales and Network Planning). The role will lead a team of analysts, which will leverage performance analytics, planning and interaction with Sales to drive revenue budget.
Lead various analytical initiatives to devise Sales and Distribution Strategy for assigned Points of Sale, understanding market segmentation, distribution and designing sales incentives to maximise net return throughout relevant channels.
Responsible for driving tactical sales and pricing actions to capture net incremental revenue growth and react to unforeseen market dynamics. This involves the planning of campaigns and coordination with Sales and Marketing teams in the territories of responsibility.
Monitor market developments to proactively determine area’s revenue performance and the success of implementing relevant market strategies in the respective markets.
Communicate business development strategies, actions, results, and requirements within the area.
Partner with Network Sales, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Distribution, Marketing and other relevant stakeholders in developing business development strategies and actions.
Monitor key business KPI’s against the targets, the plan and last year, and take appropriate business or re-planning actions as required to meet target budget.
Jointly with Revenue Management discuss and agree on the strategic direction for the planning of the revenue performance and pricing positioning for current and future seasons in the area.
Ensure that a consistent and agreed strategy is applied across all pricing activity in the area, to maintain competitive position.
Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruitment, training, performance. management, career and personal development to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
Focus on efficiency of sales team – providing ongoing support, templates, process adjustments, etc.
Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
5 years of Airline experience in one or more of the following functions: Revenue Management, Sales and Distribution or Corporate Planning
Good communication skills in English.
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
Self-driven and structured problem solving.
Ability to operate in areas of incomplete information.
Excellent negotiating skills.
Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
PC literate with knowledge of Word/PowerPoint/Excel.
Knowledge in Sales / Business development / Revenue Management.
