Role Summary:

The Marketing Automation Strategist is responsible for working with clients and vendors to design, present and implement digital marketing solutions leveraging Marketing Cloud and the other platforms. The individual will provide recommendations on whether marketing cloud development is done in house or outsourced. The individual will need to be able to validate outsourced solutions are the most effective approaches based on time and budget, as well as manage the implementation by the vendor. In addition, the individual will strive to develop solutions in house and implement those solutions using Marketing Cloud and other digital platforms available to them. This role works primarily in the Data Integration and Business Development practice area, works closely with Architecture, Digital, and Project Management teams, and effectively builds relationships across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deep functional expertise of applications in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, including but not limited to:

• Understanding of Salesforce APIs

• Working Knowledge of Amp Script

• Automated Email Sends with Dynamic Data Lists

• Journey Builder – Ability to Build detailed Journeys

• Automation Studio – Ability to determine best development route based on scope and functionality requirements

• Preferred knowledge of Salesforce Tokenized Sending

• Knowledge of Template Builder for Landing Pages

• Lead strategic execution of digital marketing programs and user-centered web experiences that align to client and marketing campaign goals

• Ability to develop and present executive level execution plans during pre-sale and operational phases, including cost estimation and timeline development

• Ability to take strategic ideas into actionable executions plans, with forethought into end user experience as well as campaign analytics and reporting

• Collaborate with other practice areas to provide hands-on solution development and subject matter expertise

• Understanding of PII and PHI data compliance


• 5+ years developing Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions including hands on experience with email, journey builder, cloud pages, automation studio, etc

• Understanding of technical architecture of a diverse set of business systems

• Working knowledge of landing page development and tracking strategies

• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing best practices

• Experience with tag management solutions (Tealium, Ensighten, Google Tag Manager, etc.)

• Experience with enterprise digital tracking platforms, such as Tealium, Adobe and others

• Working knowledge of JavaScript associated with digital analytics platforms

• Working knowledge of digital ad platforms (Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, PPC/display, etc.)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology, or applicable field experience
