Electric USA is a leading manufacturer of equipment for electrical
distribution, industrial control, and automation. We have the following
position available in Smyrna, Tennessee:

S/he investigates and procures
all data required to develop complex designs. S/he prepares sketches and/or
schematic diagrams, layout, detail and assembly drawings. S/he performs risk
analysis using FMEA and FTA tools. S/he is responsible for the creation of
multiple component/assembly solutions to envisioned product concept. S/he
ensures that the development is synchronized with changes/advances to existing
product releases which includes manipulation of appropriate CAD software. S/he
assists in verification of design to performance requirements which includes
participation in test plan, results analysis, and the feedback of appropriate
design parameters back into component/assembly design. S/he interfaces with
manufacturing organization to ensure that a well-optimized component/assembly
is developed from fabrication/assembly concerns (Tolerance Analysis). S/he
develops electronic and hard copy records that conform to internal standards
and support the development, implementation and maintenance stages of the
projects/products. S/he prepares instructional/operational information as
required. S/he confers with design originator, appropriate engineering and
other cross-functional personnel in finalizing design concepts. S/he prepares
preliminary sketches or diagrams reflecting basic design concept. S/he makes
mathematical calculations and adjustments in drawings and specifications. S/he
recommends changes or modifications as appropriate to meet manufacturability,
functionality and measurability requirements. S/he prepares and oversees final
layout, detail, assembly drawings, and other required documentation. S/he
creates computer models of the product design concept. S/he generates and
maintains organized database and/or B.O.M., change reports and/or other
documentation. S/he prepares and maintains schedule estimates.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or
related and two years of work experience designing medium voltage switchgears.
Also must have
2 years of
work experience
with medium voltage switchgears:
complex technical Medium Voltage Systems and Equipment designs in compliance
with ANSI, IEEE, UL testing for safety, reliability, and manufacturability;
Utilizing CAD tools including
Inventor, Creo2/ProE, AutoCAD, Solidworks;
Performing PEP (Product Evolution Process) Project Cycle Management with
minimum annual budget of $100,000;
Performing Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers test duties (Hi Pot, Partial
Discharge, BIL, Thermal, Endurance);
Medium Voltage Safety Review process Fault Tree Analysis;
Design and Application FMEAs;
Regulatory Compliance with RoHS and REACH
environmental standards; and
Product Environmental Profiles and Product End of Life Instructions for Medium
Voltage Equipment.
