The Robert Half Healthcare practice has an excellent career opportunity for an articulate, highly-skilled, detailed oriented Medical Scheduler who is passionate about growing their career in the healthcare industry for an established client located on the North side of Indy! As Medical Scheduler, you will be interacting with patients in various capacities. Do you love interacting with patients and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment? As the Medical Schedule, you will: schedule patient appointments based on information from referring physician offices, patients, or any other referral source, perform liaison function for add-on and emergency patients, determine if calls are to be transferred to the Triage area, can be added to present day’s schedule, or can wait for next available appointment based on presenting problems maintain knowledge of individual physician criteria, enter all patient demographic information, maintain knowledge of primary and secondary insurance requirements and process (referral required, run all Medicaid information), send maps and give directions when needed, place medical records in charts, obtain referrals as required by insurance, verify insurance eligibility for office visits, retrieve voicemails from central scheduling general mailbox, answer messages from patient portal and respond accordingly, and perform other duties as assigned by the Scheduling Manager.

Requeriments
As a medical scheduler, you should have: 1+ years of experience in healthcare scheduling, or equivalent combination of education and experience, familiarity with EMR systems, ability to demonstrate consistent detail oriented conduct and meticulous attention to detail, must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals, critical thinking skills and a positive attitude (essential), excellent customer service skills (required), experience with Allscriptis/SRS a plus, above average computer skills (preferred).
