What you’ll be doing...
As a member of the Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management Center of Excellence, you will be part of a team responsible for supporting a top priority strategic organization change; your work will involve all aspects of diagnosing current state, stakeholder alignment, future state design and development, transformation planning and change management/execution activities across key Verizon business activities. Your primary objectives are to:
Serving as a key point of contact for assigned change management/leadership work across businesses and functions.
Supporting assigned clients by providing tools and expertise in change management/leadership, organization design, team development, and cultural change.
Diagnosingand assessing organizational gaps and determiningappropriate interventions which could include stakeholder alignment, organizational structure changes, roles and responsibilities clarity, strategy and goal deployment, intergroup and team interventions, transformation and communication plan creation, and change execution.
Partnering with clients and business transformation leaders to identify opportunities for sustainable process improvements.
Building capabilities in partners and clients to sustain organization effectiveness changes and practices.
Business and Executive Partnering
Rapidly assimilatingand learning the business; building/managing relationships with team members and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategy and organization effectiveness; grow and evolve the support provided.
Establishing and maintaining role of trusted advisor to leaders with different styles and approaches, being a truth-teller leveraging data.
Organization and Structure Design
Designing and implementing operating models that align organizations with strategic objectives.
Utilizingmodels, tools and processes (STAR, 7S, etc.) to improve organization effectiveness – including organization structure, roles and responsibilities, job redesign, job descriptions, and skills assessments.
Proposingnew and alternate organization structures (and associated change management plans) which align with the organization’s strategic goals; evaluate their effectiveness.
Intergroup and Team Intervention
Identifying and improvingareas of intersection between teams or groups.
Selecting and/or designing and developing appropriate interventions i.e. team development, conflict management, group norms, vision and goal alignment, role clarification, problem solving and decision-making process improvements.
Assessing organization culture dynamics.
Designing culture change plans and developing change activities to meet culture alignment objectives.
Collaborate with and coach business leaders to effectively lead and support change efforts.
Change Enablement & Commitment
Developing and implementing change management strategy and plan to support initiatives through deployment of VZ Change Methodology. Initiatives may include culture shift, restructuring, work transitions, and M&A.
Regularly evaluatingrisks; designing, developing and delivering solutions to address.
Enablingstakeholder engagement, leadership alignment, impact analysis, communications, business readiness, deployment, and adoption measurement.
What we’re looking for...
You have a practical and comprehensive knowledge and application of organizational design and development and change management. You have demonstrated an ability to craft and lead these change initiatives and drive process excellence. You have a track record of achieving results in challenging assignments while handling multiple priorities. You have the ability to influence multiple levels of the organization, including executive leadership, and build your relationships quickly. You’re problem solving skills are strong which allow you to collect, assimilate and analyze data. You have strong business acumen to support strategic alignment of initiatives.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of related experience in organization development/effectiveness, change management/leadership, or related fields.
Strong consulting experience working within a large, complex organization.
Even better if you have:
An advanced degree in Organization Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field.
Six sigma green belt certification.
Fifteen or more years of experience
