The Powertrain Model Controller will work at our Headquarters and Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI and is responsible for but not limited to:

- Complete program financial control responsibility for core engine, transmission or electrified powertrain product development

- Supporting Powertrain platform organization with financial analysis for cost studies, business case development and program reviews through cost/investment reporting and tracking

- Communicating the program financial position to senior management and other functional operating teams

- Compiling powertrain variable and fixed cost, volumes and investment (manufacturing, supplier tooling, ER&D) inputs to ensure proper business case development for governance approvals

- Supporting powertrain platform target-setting process for future programs

- Tracking core powertrain cost / investment funding for approved programs by approving technical Change Notices (CN’s), sourcing and tooling purchase orders

- Support annual product cost study through evaluation of Bill of Material (BOM) and perform year-over-year reconciliations

- Support powertrain CapEx business plan, calendar year budget and monthly forecast

- Standardization of program financial controls and improvements for powertrain finance processes and methodologies

- Completing ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as required

- Coordinating global powertrain platform finance activities/studies, as required

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)

- Minimum 5 years of finance experience

- Knowledge of and advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint

- Strong organizational, presentation, and communication (oral and written) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)

- Superior modeling and analytical skills coupled with a solid finance/accounting background

- Demonstrated experience working within formal and informal team environments

- Highly motivated and self-confident

- Ability to think creatively and strategically while facilitating operational execution and simplification

- High energy level, self-starter, and quick learner

- Strong sense of urgency and ability to perform well under pressure

- Preferred 2 years in budget / forecasting, capital expenditure investment, comparative financial analysis, financial trend analysis, application of accounting principles, or program management
