Job Overview QCT's Modem Firmware Test group is responsible for verifying modem device functionality and features as well as characterizing modem performance at the physical layer during various phases of modem development and commercialization. In addition, the Modem FW Test group is responsible for set-up, automation, maintenance, enhancement, and evolution of modem FW test infrastructure and processes. You will be responsible for integration/verification of physical layer implementations for complex digital modem ASIC products supporting LTE, UMTS (HSPA+) and IS-2000 technologies. Experience in using / programming / script development on various commercial test equipment (R&S, Anritsu, Keysight, Anite, etc) is required for validating the functionality and performance of advance modem features such as Carrier Aggregation, MIMO, and a variety of other proprietary modem capabilities. In addition, experience in developing system level test plans required as well as ability to digest / analyze performance logs and assist with system level debug. 4G / 5G spec knowledge of physical layer / MAC layer / L1 as well as familiarity with carrier certification / IOT process desired. The specific job charter entails pre/post silicon verification of the modem subsystem, with primary focus on the physical layer modem firmware, hardware, and systems algorithms. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team (Modem Firmware/Software, FW/SW integration, Modem Systems, Modem HW, RF Software, as well as Modem Systems Test) in the commercialization of QCT modem products. Much of the job focus will be on testing with internal and third party test equipment.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
Modem physical layer design, performance analysis/characterization, debug/issue analysis.
Physical layer integration & test comprised of various subsystems: FW, HW, L1 SW, RF SW.
Physical/MAC layer protocol testing and/or implementation for any of the following air interface standards: CDMA2000, 1xEV-DO (Rev 0/A/B), GSM/ GPRS /EDGE/, WCDMA Rel99/ Rel5 / HSDPA/ HSUPA/HSPA+, LTE, TD-SCDMA
Operation and test script development for any of the following physical /protocol layer commercial test equipment for 2G, 3G, 4G technologies: Anite, R&S, Keysight/Agilent, Spirent, or Anritsu.
Communication systems knowledge, with specific emphasis on OFDM and CDMA technologies.
Wireless protocol stack knowledge for any of the following air interface standards : CDMA2000, 1xEV-DO (Rev 0/A/B), GSM/ GPRS /EDGE, WCDMA Rel99 / Rel5 / HSDPA / HSUPA / HSPA+, LTE, TD-SCDMA
Programming skills in Perl, Python, C or C++
Education Requirements Master's or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, or Communication Systems.
