Receive work assignments and trouble cases from designated employees or via tablets.
Install, rearrange and maintain wiring inside and outside the customer’s premises and between customer locations for residence and business customers.
Rearrange and reconnect wiring at pole, underground or building terminals.
Perform necessary work to connect, disconnect, test, repair and maintain various types of company and customer provided phones and equipment.
Configure customers' computer and equipment.
Perform diagnostic tests on integrated circuit equipment to determine trouble.
Interpret service orders and circuit diagrams.
Evaluate customer communication needs, promote the sale of Company products and services and refer customers to the appropriate office.
Communicate frequently with customers on matters dealing with service, planning, billing, and Company policy.
Work aloft; climb ladders and poles; enter tunnels, buildings, trenches, crawl spaces, manholes, and other confined spaces to accomplish job tasks.
May perform light digging, be required to stand or sit for long periods of time and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Normally work and travel alone between work locations by driving Company vehicles with little or no direct supervision.
Arrange work load and deal directly with the appropriate center.
Identify and meet individual customer requirements on installation and/or repair contacts.
May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
Must meet required test results for this position in accordance with company policy.
Must meet Verizon medical standards for the job. Must meet weight restriction to comply with OSHA/Company safety standards.
Ability to perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
Must be able to move and/or lift items such as ladders, cable and other objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Must meet applicable federal and state standards for operating the size vehicles covered by this job title.
A valid state driver’s license is required. Must have ability to drive company vehicle and read and interpret road maps.
Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business. May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as the needs of the business necessitate.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- 1+ years installing telephony, video and data.
- 1+ years Copper or I&M Telecom experience.
- Experience working with customers within the last 3 years.
-The ability to communicate effectively with customers.
Additional Information
*Must pass all critical training/skills which includes but not limited to Pole Climbing and Installation and Maintenance Training.
**Required training may require extended, over-night travel.
**Work tours will vary but may include Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM with weekends, evenings and overtime as needed by the business.
