Job SummaryGrinnell College seeks two part-time museum guards to provide day-to-day security in the Museum of Art. Guards will ensure the safety of works of art and of visitors. A professional manner and strong customer service skills are essential. Guards will be members of the Grinnell College Museum of Art team and will interact with a diverse range of students, faculty, staff and visitors from around the globe. They will assist, as needed, with special events. Guards will work whenever the Museum is open (est. 44 weeks per year) on a weekly schedule to be determined.
Grinnell College Museum of Art, within the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts, presents exhibitions of historical and contemporary art year-round, along with a robust schedule of programs for the campus and community. The Museum welcomes up to 15,000 visitors a year.
This position does not work enough hours to be benefits eligible.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma. Experience in a security -related field preferred.
