Night Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


- Consistently offer professional, friendly andengagingservice
- Must be familiar with all policies and procedures relatingto the Front Desk, Security, Reservations, Guest Services and Food &Beverage, providing hands-on support as needed
- Act as Manager on Duty for the hotel during theovernight shift
- Assist in all areas of hotel operations to ensurethings run smoothly (i.e. – assisting In Room Dining, Bell Services, FrontOffice, Housekeeping, and Engineering.)
- Foster a culture where colleagues focus on their roleof doing whatever it takes to exceed guest expectations while performingmultiple functions
- Supervision of all night cleaners by doing regularfloor sweeps of the hotel.Conduct break relief for night staffin all departments as needed
- Generation and distribution of Management reports
- Be present at the Reception/Front Desk wheneverpossible
- Promptly and effectively handle any complaints
- Meet and greet VIP guests
- Co-ordinate arrivals and departures, monitoring waitingtimes, always keeping guests informed and ensuring that they are ascomfortable as possible
- Actively seek feedback from colleagues and guests; following-upand taking action
- Ensure procedures are followed when dealing withintoxicated persons, thefts, evictions, cash escorts and lost and foundarticles
- Member of the Emergency Response Team, including FireSafety, First Aid and general crisis management
- Assist the Front Office and Account Teams in thecompletion of Daily Accounting, IT and Audit work
- Conduct a handover at the end of each shift withrelieving staff, informing them of any special requirements or problems
- Adhere to and promote the company’s Health & Safetypolicies to ensure a safe work environment and knowledgeable in all safetyand emergency procedures
- Actively participate in and support all green/recyclinginitiatives
- Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


- Two years of previous supervisoryexperienceat the Front Desk, Security or Night Auditisrequired
- Highly motivated and guest driven with the proven ability to solve problems and make timely and effective decisions, especially in a crisis situation
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, guests and external contacts, both verbally and written
- Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions/projects while meeting deadlines
- Strong computer skills, especially in Word, Excel and PMS
- Must have a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of hotel operation


Physical Aspects of Position(include but are not limited to):


- Frequent walking, standing and sitting throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to30 lbs
- Occasional bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs andramps
