Title: Occupational Health Nurse (OHN)
Function: Logistics
Department: Human Resources
Reports to:  Human Resources Generalist
Direct Reports: None
Overall Job Function:  Oversees and administers all the worker’s compensation functions, monitors and supports leave management, and responsible for implementing and coordinating all safety and awareness programs for the Distribution Center.
Job Responsibility including but not limited to:
Responsible for the control of workers' compensation expenses through the development and implementation of medical management programs within the distribution center
Reviews all first reports of injury and ensures that appropriate reports are distributed.
Maintains contact with the injured associate in order to achieve a timely return to the work force.
Supports HR Generalist with FMLA and Disability leave tracking and follow up.
Maintains communications with the treating physician relative to treatment plan, associate's progress and the anticipated return to work date for workers compensation as well as any other medical leave
Communicates with insurance carriers.
Establishes and maintains a working relationship with physicians/clinics.
Partners with benefits to provide needed employee-related health and wellness programs, medical care, medical screening and health education.
Monitors the work environment to ensure the health and safety of workers.
Coordinates and conducts all required Health awareness and Safety trainings.
Maintains records for all required trainings and safety routines.
Updates and maintains records for all Material Safety Data Sheets as needed.
Coordinates and maintains all records for licensing of power equipment operators.
Supports the Distribution center leadership team with OSHA related issues.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 5-7 years Occupational Health experience in a Distribution or Manufacturing setting.
Fluent in the Spanish language
Excellent people and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a high pressure, multi-personality, fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
COHN/COHN-S (if not currently certified, must obtain within a year)
Certified in hearing conservation, spirometry, and CPR.
Member of AAOHN and Member of ASSE
Prior experience developing and implementing wellness programs
Strong knowledge of occupational health principles
Excellent verbal and written skills
Prior experience in processing and managing workers compensation claims
Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with peers, customers, and partners.
Ability to serve as employee advocate while at the same time considering the business needs
Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
Excellent organizational skills.
