Position Summary Office Assistants 1performs office support and clerical work to meet the requirements of agencyprograms. Such work may consist of, but is not limited to: performingdata entry; mail, supply, and inventory functions; answering telephones;completing forms; assisting customers; and performing other relatedactivities. This work is accomplished in accordance with applicableprocedures, rules, regulations, and laws.

Duties of an OfficeAssistant 1 (Stores/Mail) in Materials Management may include thefollowing but are not limited to:


- Performs such work that may consist of doing inventory count; using handheld scanners; knowledge of supply, and inventory functions.
- Count, pick, and deliver/replenish medical/surgical supplies throughout the Nursing Units including Operating Room, Emergency Department and/or off-site locations.
- Maintain the integrity of supplies and the cleanliness of storage units. Keeping shelves and stock clean, neat, and in proper place.
- Take periodic physical inventory and maintain perpetual inventory records.
- Answering telephones; completing forms; assisting staff and performing other related activities.
- This work shall be accomplished in accordance with applicable process and procedures.


- Maintainfiles, correspondence, documents, records, materials, and stores pursuant toguidelines.

Qualified candidateswill demonstrate excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills,knowledge, and understanding of medical/surgical supplies and effectivelyrespond to the Nursing Division’s changing needs by making decisions based onethical principles and adhering to our high standard of excellence. Thecandidate should be able to lift/push/pull heavy objects and stand for long periods.

QualificationsRequiredQualifications: MUST havetaken and passed the specific job related Civil Service exam and be reachableon the appropriate Civil Service list.
