Operational Risk Officer - Risks New York - United States MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operational Risk Officer 's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


- Consolidate, analyze and challenge the operational risk reported by the various lines of defense in order to provide consolidated view of the risk.
- Assess and analyze data collected by 1st Line of Defense (Business Units and support functions)
- Produce various operational risk event reports and provide root cause analysis
- Evaluate and escalate critical and emerging risks across the firm and to the Group level organization
- Prepare documentation and run Operational Risk incidents reporting meetings
- Ensure that the processes and governance around the data collection of operational risk incidents and Reporting is adequate and follows the group policies and standards.
- Design and execute Capital Stress Testing models utilizing data analysis tools
- Challenge the First and Second Line of Defense in the identification and management of operational risks, defining and implementing the right remediation plan and challenge if required the risk acceptance taken by the business line.
- Follow-up on red flags and corrective action items
- Support the team members in meeting their career goals and aspirations
- The role also requires active engagement in managing projects related to process improvement. The role requires an individual with an analytical and creative mindset and an ability to focus on the "big picture" while driving the execution of detailed plans.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills: PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI tool

- Working knowledge of designing Capital Stress Testing models using Python

- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

- Demonstrated ability to lead change through influencing skills, be a positive change agent, broker compromises and meet deadlines

- Experience in developing and documenting governance processes supporting operational risk frameworks

- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a matrix organization and fast-paced environment
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required:

- A minimum of 5 years experience working in a operational risk/financial institution setting

- Working knowledge of Capital Markets and current regulatory environment in the Financial Service Industry
EDUCATION
Required:

- Bachelors degree in Finance or Risk Management

The mission of Operational Risk Management department (RISQ/OPE) is to provide independent, objective and leading operational risk management challenge and oversight services to assist the firm in maintaining an effective system of risk management.

The team supports the Executive Committee in their oversight of the governance, risk and control frameworks and tolerances of Operational Risk, while achieving and maintaining the highest level of professional standards. An objective is to educate the employees on the importance of operational risk management which is based on the principle that "everyone is an operational risk manager."

The team provides proactive advice to help management identify and measure key risks, and to evaluate controls in existing and expanding businesses.

This role will report directly to the head of Monitoring, Control and Reporting (MCR) team.

The Monitoring, Control and Reporting (MCR) team within RISQ/AME/OPE ensures that the processes and governance around operational risk (i.e. Operational Risk Event Collection/Reporting, RCSA, Permanent Supervision, etc.) respect the group policies and norms. MCR consolidates, analyzes and escalates the operational risk reported by the various lines of defense to provide management with an executive view of the risk through governing committees or day to day interaction. Specifically,


- Define and oversee the data collection process for the operational risk framework
- Define and manage the SG US scenario analysis program
- Produce operational risk indicators
- Produce the consolidated analyzes to the SG AMER governance bodies
- Work closely with the Group RISQ/OPE team on the normative framework.
