Hasbro has an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Legal Department’s Global Trademark and Copyright Group. You will play an integral role in building and maintaining Hasbro’s extensive trademark and copyright portfolio. Your responsibilities will include domestic and international trademark clearance, trademark docket management, copyright registration and management, and working on various trademark and copyright projects with some of the world’s most loved and recognized brands. Good interpersonal and organizational skills, proactive “can do” attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for intellectual property are paramount.

A day in the life as a Paralegal - Trademark & Copyright:

- Conduct and review trademark searches and coordinate with business clients regarding search results and recommendations

- Review assets for proper trademark use, proper notices relating to intellectual property, and other intellectual property issues

- Provide support with respect to filing, prosecution, and maintenance of trademark applications and registrations, including obtaining specimens of use, collecting and preparing evidence, and preparing and arranging for legalization of necessary supporting documents

- Support docketing and tracking of trademark application and registration statuses, due dates, and maintenance deadlines and maintain trademark files

- Assist with identifying key copyright assets and apply for registration of copyright in U.S. and/or other foreign jurisdictions, including China

- Handle inquiries regarding copyrights and prepare schedules of registered copyrights

- File and manage customs recordals of trademark and copyright registrations in the U.S. and assist with recordals in other foreign jurisdictions, including China

- Provide support relating to enforcement actions and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings

What you'll bring:

- Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; Bachelor’s Degree a significant plus

- 3+ years of trademark clearance experience either in a law firm and/or in-house as a paralegal is required

- Experience with trademark docketing is strongly preferred

- Proficiency in conducting online research, including trademark clearance platforms

- Proficiency with USPTO database

- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

- Experience with docket management software, preferably CPI or WebTMS

- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of attorneys, paralegals, and business managers from different disciplines

- Strong analytical skills and strong foundation in intellectual property law
