This is a staff position which is expected to function as a specialist with respect to a
specific technical phase manufacturing, layout, assembly, work standards, assembly equipment, and process optimization. Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete a larger project.
Incumbents evaluate projects to define desired results and determine logical approaches. Evaluates such factors as cost, personnel yearly usage, equipment, space, etc. as well as other information needed to determine requirements. Prepares feasibility studies for appropriateness and cost effectiveness and submits recommendations accordingly. Results contribute to the effective management decisions in determining the most efficient processes, methods, machinery, tools, equipment, services and systems needed in the manufacture of product.
Analyzes and recommends current and future systems, procedures, training and equipment needs based upon understanding and communication with users. Determines acceptability of new equipment based on usage requirements and recommends modification or revision as necessary. Provides analysis and recommendations needed to allow manufacturing to produce the engineering product designs in a more optimal and efficient manner.

- Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Applicant must attend 4-year university within driving distance to the facility in which they will be working
- Applicant must be able to work 15-20 hours per week
- GPA requirements: minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Top Candidates will also have:
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Ability to analyze data, develop a conclusion and present proposals to leaders
- Previous internship in Manufacturing / Assembly Operations
- Ability to Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics while performing assigned duties
- Working knowledge of electronic assembly is a plus
This is a part time temporary opening located in Alpharetta, GA. Relocation is not available for this position.
