Position descriptionPerforms delegated tasks of patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Utilizes skills which she/he has obtained in educational programs and/or orientation and has demonstrated competency. Participates actively a member of the patient care team.
QualificationsRequires a High School Diploma or GED and one of the following:

EMT or Paramedic certification, Corpsman or Medic experience in the military, CNA or PCT training program, completion of "fundamentals" as a nursing student, or six months acute care (bedside) experience.
Additional qualificationsMaintains yearly BLS certification.

Patient care skills, knowledge of infection control and safety procedures, medical terminology, strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requires independent judgment, a high level of motivation, accountability, flexibility, interest in patient care, and compassion for people.
