Description

Cognizant Technology
Solutions is seeking a Patient Services Representative to work for one of its
clients in Corinth, MS. The Patient Services Representative is responsible for
contacting patients to gather insurance benefit information for accident claims
from auto, home, and other liability and health policies and providing a
positive experience for the patient following their hospital visit.
Duties and
Responsibilities
include
the following and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor:
Explains the coordination of insurance benefits for
patients in a way they the patient understands
Maintains proper account documentation in case
management program and other computer systems
Responds to email and phone correspondence per
department guidelines.
Resolves any issues noted in the QA work reviews
Completes special reports as required, such as aged
reports, checklist audits, denial reports, etc.
Assists with new employee training. Provides initial
one-on-one training in position basics and best practices, and serves as a
resource for new employees.
Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with
clients and other Company personnel.
Performs other activities and responsibilities and
assignments timely, accurately and with a professional attitude and appearance.
Job Requirements
Customer service experience is required
Typing assessment is required (must type 35+ wpm)
Experience working in a medical office environment is
preferred
Experience working in a professional office environment
is preferred
Experience working a call center environment is
preferred
Demonstrate required skills; adapt to new technologies;
troubleshoot technological problems; use technology to increase
productivity; keep technical skills up to date.
Should be able to identify and resolve problems in a
timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop
alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations; use
reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Manage difficult or emotional customer situations;
respond promptly to customer needs; solicit customer feedback to improve
service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
Express ideas and thoughts verbally; express ideas and
thoughts in written form; exhibit good listening and comprehension; keep
others adequately informed; select and use appropriate communication
methods.
Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative
situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions.
Working knowledge of computer functions including the
Internet, and computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and
follow-through on assignments with minimal direction, along with a high
level of attention to detail.
Education and/or
Experience
High
school diploma is required. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree is
preferred.
