Under the direction of the Safety & Security Manager, the Physical Security Administrator is responsible for the administration of a variety of physical security measures that safeguard personnel, property (including closed areas), and information at a variety of facilities. Additionally, the Physical Security Administrator assists in all areas of personnel and information security. The Physical Security Administrator works with the Safety Manager towards the on-going development of the NBU Security program and improved security practices. The Physical Security Administrator will work with other security professionals, contractors, consultants, regarding new projects renovations.


- Assists with implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and national guidelines, as well as NBU internal policies and procedures.

- Manages and provides direction with security contracts, ensures security standards are being met throughout NBU.

- Manages facility access control including maintenance, monitoring, alarm response, installation, upgrading, and servicing of systems to include closed areas. This duty applies to both system hardware and software.

- Manages and provides direction to security personnel and/or contract employees and ensures the invoices are accurate. Ensures processes are in place and followed in an efficient manner.

- Controls access to facilities through the oversight of physical security systems including: badging, access control, CCTV/VMS, and alarms. Oversees maintenance installation, upgrading, and servicing of these systems.

- Oversees facility Closed Circuit Television (CCTV/VMS) system including maintenance, monitoring, installation, upgrading and servicing of system. This duty applies to both system hardware and software.

- Oversees facility Intrusion Detection System (IDS) including maintenance, alarm response and servicing of system. This responsibility includes the maintenance, alarm response and servicing of systems in closed areas.

- Responsible for facility security badging and training for badging for employees and visitors. This includes knowledge of the hardware and software of the badging system.

- Assists with processes and procedures to establish Access control badges/ID cards relating to for new employees access requests, contractors other authorizations of employees.

- Prepares and maintains detailed records pertaining to control of sensitive information, safes, keys and personnel access.

- Ensures that proper industrial security procedures are followed in accordance with NBU Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other applicable Government Sponsor Regulations.

- Acts as an advisor to management on physical security problems to ensure compliance of this and all other applicable government sponsor regulations.

- Maintains in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology.

- Have knowledge of badging, access control and CCTV/VMS systems, visitor monitoring systems. Understanding of technical requirements related to office security installations and monitoring and security industry best practices.

- Have knowledge of National Industrial Security Program, Intelligence Community Directives and associated industrial security regulations, policies and laws.

- Conducts physical security inspections and facility assessments to review security procedures and provide recommendations.

- Provides product research, feasibility studies, project planning for physical security projects.

- Prepares written or narrative reports of facility assessment findings.

- Performs other qualified duties as assigned.


- Manages and provides direction with security contracts, ensures security standards are being met throughout NBU.

- Coordinates scheduling and administration of contracted security training and assists with providing training.

- Develops, updates and tracks various security related reports.

- Analyzes reports and other related incidents and trends, and provides statistical analysis to Safety & Security Manager.

- Oversees the issuance and execution of security documents, division and organization, designated by Human Resources for "New Hires".

- Maintains security files and records.

- Performs miscellaneous administrative and clerical duties.


- Maintain regular attendance; leave schedule should be managed so as to not interfere with ability to accomplish tasks, including special projects and assignments with deadlines

- Adhere to NBU safety & security guidelines and practices at all times and in all situations

- Maintain a clean and safe work area, office, field site and vehicle as applicable

- Develop & maintain effective customer service skills for communications with co-workers, customers and the public in general

- Maintain strict confidentiality of business, employee and customer information in written and oral communications and safeguard sensitive documents

- Bachelors Degree

-Three or more years of work experience

- Three (3) or more experience in security or similar environment, Law Enforcement, Military.

- Two (2) or more years' experience working in corporate security for a government office or contractor preferred.

Preferred-Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent related work experience.
