General Summary This Postdoctoral Residency is designed for individuals who are interested in providing therapy, supervision, training, and outreach in a counseling center to a diverse population of students with an emphasis on underrepresented groups, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. We seek a Postdoctoral Resident with well-developed therapy skills; a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and working with under-represented student groups; and an understanding of outreach and consultation activities. This is a 12 month, 2000-hour Postdoctoral Residency that will meet or exceed state requirements for licensure as a Psychologist. Supervision, mentoring, and professional development experiences for this position will be provided by a multidisciplinary senior staff with primary clinical supervision provided by a licensed psychologist.

This position's primary duty is providing clinical counseling services and outreach/programming to under-represented students on the campus of Illinois State University. The Postdoctoral Resident will spend about 50% of their time providing clinical services (e.g., individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, diagnostic interviews, direct outreach), 25% of their time providing programming through departmental initiatives and collaboration with the Multicultural Center, and 25% of their time receiving and providing clinical supervision, attending departmental meetings, participating in professional growth and development, completing documentation, and serving on departmental committees.
Additional Information:
Required Qualifications 1.All requirements of doctoral degree completed in psychology by start date (8-1-20). Doctoral degree conferred no later than 12-31-20.

3.If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University Policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
Desired Qualifications: 1.Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited training program
2.Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship
3.University counseling center experience

Hiring Rate/Range $40,000
Work Hours 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, but regular evening and occasional weekend hours are required. In these instances, hours can be flexed during the core work hours.
