At EY, Global Managed Services Enablement came together to be the central function that provides expertise with regard to costing, pricing, modelling, contracting, risk management and independence for MS deals. Our aim is to facilitate market success for complex Managed Services transactions
The Opportunity
Pricing Architects lead the development of robust financial analysis for qualified Global Managed Service (GMS) long-term pursuits. This role must ensure that EY is able to take compelling commercial vehicles to market, understand the expected financial performance of a GMS engagement,, the implications of risks and identification of opportunity.
Your Key Responsibilities
i.         Support upfront qualification of complex MS pursuits – with particular focus on testing both parties’ value proposition and designing the pricing approach forthe pursuit.
ii.         Lead/support the design of competitive pricing proposition for specific client pursuits, achieve an appropriate EY commercial return, and manage key risks – working closely with the pursuit leader, solution architect, legal , commercial, negotiations, risk, and independence.
iii.         The pricing design will include costing the solution compoents, development of the Client Business Case, the EY Business Case, a pricing response, contractual pricing documents, addressing client concerns/requirements and mitigating EY risks.
iv.        Using EY’s costing and pricing tools and policies, the pricing architect will present the pursuit’s client and EY business cases for internal approvals .
v.         Build and maintain strong relationships – develop and own relationships with clients and internal delivery teams
vi.        Support the transfer of the pricing knowledge to the EY MS delivery team to ensure the ongoing management of the commercial aspects of contracts.
vii.        Review the financial returns delivered by MS engagements to ensure the learning is captured as engagements deliver.
viii.       Capture knowledge into EY artefacts that can be used to support MS pursuits and ensure it is embedded in EY’s overall approach– eg updated costing and pricing policies, models.
ix.        Develop and run training programmes on pricing pursuits lessons learned  for account, MS enablement and delivery teams.
x.         Develop people through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring.
xi.        Support the recruitment and development of pricing talent into the GMS team
Skills and attributes for success
Experience of having led complex MS pricing for clients in EY and/or other organisations, fluency in alternate fee arrangements.
•           5+ years of working in a complex managed services environment.
•           Working across various client and EY stakeholders
•           High level of drive and ability to work under pressure.
•           Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and client service skills.
•           Demonstrate strong organization skills, with capability to work independently to plan, structure, and execute pursuit activities.
•           Attention to detail, continually produce work of high-quality.
•           Comfortable working in unstructured environments.
•           Comfortable with modeling, expert in Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated capabilities in PowerPoint and Word. (5+ years in a MS pricing role)
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s MBA and or Master’s Degree in Business, IT or related field
Bachelor’s degree

Work experience with an outsourcing firm
