Description

Purpose:

A Discontinuance is filed when a foreclosure action is no longer needed, likely due to a settlement that has been reached by the parties. The responsibility of this position will be to draft and file the necessary legal documents with the court which will result in the cancellation of the Lis Pendens from record and discontinuance of foreclosure proceedings. Responsibility to update Case Management and Client System with required information; work with staff/attorneys to produce necessary documents and to adhere to strict timelines. This position also handles additional filings in connection with a Discontinuance as applicable by client/county requirement.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:

Receive and review daily report for recently closed files
Prepare necessary pleadings for attorney review; responsibility to identify and escalate according to filing deadlines.
Maintain follow up process for documents requested from vendors as well as attorney reviews
Respond to phone calls, e-mails, faxes and client correspondence promptly
Update all client systems accurately and in a timely manner
Assist with other duties and special projects as needed; provides back up support to other team members, follows all quality, safety, and Company guidelines to ensure a safe and productive work environment; actively lives the Company values.
Job Requirements:

High school/GED, Associated Degree preferred
2+ years of general office experience; 2+ years of customer service experience; Preferred 2+ years of experience in law firm or Title Industry
Basic PC Skills, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Internet/Web Browser; Must have ability to perform basic computer functions and office equipment. Must be able to speak clearly and be articulate on the telephone and in person. Must be able to work quickly, accurately and with attention to detail in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
General Competency Factors:

Must be proficient in software tools, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
