Fellow level architecture role, working with Tier 1 clients CTOs and architecture teams in defining new consumer console gaming, datacenter or client computer or embedded computer vision SOCs and related platforms.
This role will be responsible for defining customer-specific architectures, working with business development team to define strategy, identifying silicon and SW IP gaps in AMD portfolio, engage possible partners, and architect product SOC and define related key SW components. It will require a solid background in complex ASIC/SoC product development with CPU and GPU, depth in security and virtualization considerations, and a strong view of silicon industry technology inflexion points.
Ideal candidate will assess Silicon, platform and SW and IP business gaps of existing solutions to create a uniquely differentiated customer specific overall solution.
The objective of the position is to work closely with business and architecture team at large tier-1 computing device vendors to bring together high performance AMD CPU and / or GPU IP, computer vision, networking IP and other 3rd party in a single solution that uniquely addresses needs for several years.
The Product Architect is also responsible for technology planning and providing input to the product roadmaps the roadmap with Semi-Custom business objectives in mind.
Primary technical interface with customers in exploring new business opportunities
Definition of system architecture for SoCs.
Expertise around the platform and long term technology trends
Manages the transition from idea discussions to POR for implementation
Definition of horizontal technologies relevant to Semi-Custom trends
Architecture lead during implementation phase
Responsible for concept and definition of Semi-Custom products.
Lead multiple worldwide teams and work along with other design and development teams to ensure successful transition of programs that enable on-time volume production that meet market demands.
Lead the team that defines and executes the Semi-Custom technology programs to meet business objectives in a dynamic market
Attract, select, coach and motivate a global, multi-site team that will execute to a high standard of quality
Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness, competitiveness, system capabilities, security, scalability and reliability
Lead process improvement initiatives and measurements to improve quality and bottom-line profitability
Utilize customer feedback to improve team performance and enhance deliverables.
Drive competitive analysis to maintain awareness across the business of where we are projected to stand relative to our main competitors on key product metrics
Engage customers maintain understanding of their product requirements and future plans and how they impact our IP and technology roadmap.
The ideal candidate will have no less than 15 years of professional experience in the industry with a proven track record of successfully building and delivering complex semiconductor SOC products involving multiple engineering disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of experience at a Product Architect role.
Solid technical knowledge of CPU architectures, server platforms or SOCs, GPUs and multimedia. Computer vision knowledge a plus.
Experience with motivating, and mentoring highly technical teams
Demonstrated success managing global, multi-location development teams
Passion for delivering high quality products
