What You'll Do
In this role, the Project Specialist understands the supply chain optimization objectives or problem statement and drive/support the analysis of alternatives and associated business cases. Identify and collaborate with the key stakeholder community and drive the stated concept through a structured review process.
The Project Specialist role is to define and validates the project health, plan and schedule for complex projects; define metrics for portfolio success; develop and drive governance. The Project team will ensure that each submitted business case aligns to Cisco’s overarching vision, has measurable benefits, a coherent budget plan, and a sound integration into a business architecture plan. Approved projects are moved to an onboarding phase where each project needs to set intermediary landmarks and both non-financial and financial metrics for every quarter of the project duration. All details are then added to tools where project delivery is monitored. During the whole year there are ongoing change management and monitoring activities: monthly & quarterly portfolio review, planning, governance, communication, financial analysis, business analysis.
The primary role of the Project Specialist will be to ensure successful delivery of programs, drive daily partnership with Project Managers, Portfolio team and other partners to make sure that all projects will have delivered what they committed to delivering. Main responsibilities will be focused around project planning, budget, governance, return on investment analysis and alignment with IT and partner engagement.
This role requires solid project management skills, ability to handle priorities at the same time, ability to prioritize work and clearly communicate with partners. You are able to inspire change management activities, build relationships, and deliver on progress tracking, value benefits and communication.
Drive alignment between business case and the delivery of projects within program
Define program, scope, goals, deliverables, budget, and actively manage risk.
Develop a thorough understanding of the business model, operational processes, and key performance indicators.
Drive E2E creation and execution of program roadmap and benefits realization
Develop project release plans and coordinate resources to ensure that the program is successfully completed within defined constraints
Communication within whole program, across all projects, portfolio team, Supply Chain Transformation and other partners
Planning changes and improvements within the program and across whole project
Drive collaboration across workstreams and functions for scalable E2E solution
Drive and maintain workstream alignment to vision and values
Supporting projects in terms of tools where they should track status of project and issues that occurred on the way
Who You Are
Desired qualifications:
Typically requires BA/BS or equivalent experience plus 5+ years Project/ Program Management related experience.
PMP Certification or equivalent
Background in Operations and/ or Supply Chain Management
Experience in leading cross functional programs and projects
Effective at leading cross-functional and cross-organizational teams beyond “business as usual” to achieve results at pace
Contributes to a successful team environment by being a motivator for positive, multifunctional, and well-organized change
Demonstrates interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills in building consensus with people at all levels
Ability to predict risk areas and create mitigation/contingency strategies
Analytical mindset to derive actionable
