Here in North Charleston, SC,

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC is writing an exciting chapter in Daimler’s history as

we add the first U.S. van production plant for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, in

addition to our existing assembly operation for Sprinter and METRIS vans.  Our slogan is “Vans. Born to Run.” and we

invite engaged, innovative job candidates to run the ramp up of our new

Job Overview:


 


Tasks of this position include ongoing

support and troubleshooting during operation of QSYS and Paperless factory

system on designated shift. The Measurement and Failure Analysis Engineer acts

as an interface between IT, maintenance, QSYS and Assembly Teams.


 


Responsibilities:


- Provide first level support on PLF/ QSYS system on

designated shift.


- Escalate major and non-routine issues in timely manner.

Independently initiate emergency operation in the event of a malfunction in the

process flow.


- Record feedback on faulty displays and coordinate

troubleshooting.


- Coordination and preparation of the display content with the

intended areas. Ensure the configuration of codes and part numbers for the PLF

displays. Configuration of inspection points. Updating and optimizing the

display matrices and aligning the displays on the tablets.


- Perform analysis in order to fully understand the issue and

consider the most appropriate response. Adapt solutions for specific

situations.


- Support implementation of a QSYS/PLF emergency operating

concept.


- Support for functional extensions of the PLF in assembly.

Training of production Team Members on basic PLF/QSYS functionalities and new

functions.


- Analyze weak points of the PLF, may provide alternative

solutions and make suggestions for improvement in coordination with users. 


- Rollouts of new functions will be supported and implemented.

Support before, during and after implementation.


- Initiate replacement of defective devices

(Hardware/Software). Coordinate positions of new hardware and track

implementation.


- Other duties as assigned
