The Program Director is responsible to coordinate all academic and administrative departmental activities to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the program. The Program Director is responsible for all departmental accreditation activities, making decisions in the areas of planning, staffing, scheduling, supervising, curriculum development and improvement, and for the individual and collective professional development for his/her program. The Program Director has authority to hire and terminate employees and to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in teaching to ensure students derive the most optimal benefits from each learning experience.


• Coordinate course schedule and faculty assignments each term

• Recruit, develop, and supervise faculty as needed

• Plan and participate in regularly scheduled faculty development meetings

• Observe and evaluate performance of faculty members as it pertains to their professional development

• Conduct online and on-ground faculty reviews as outlined in the policy

• Coordinate, plan and manage the preparation of the Self-Study Report and Site Visit activities for Programmatic accreditation

• Participate in development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum

• Conduct semi-annual program advisory board meetings as required by ABHES

• Providing academic counseling for students in the program

• Conduct an annual program review, make revisions and present changes to faculty and administration

• Coordinate student registration process with student services

• Collaborate with marketing and admissions

• Review institutional and program policies, procedure, and publications

• Create and implement an annual professional development plan during the annual performance evaluation

• Coordinate efforts with administration to ensure that the program is compliant with institutional accreditation standards

• Participate in weekly coordination and planning meetings as needed

• Participate in commencement activities

• Successfully represent the college and online nursing program to state and national regulatory and accreditation agencies

• Carry out other position-related responsibilities as requested by the Provost
