As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
The Program Manager role in Google's Energy and Location Strategy (ELS) group is at the core of preparing for the continued growth of Google's Infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role ensuring that Google datacenter infrastructure is carefully planned and sourced in a time, place and configuration which is ideal for serving Google's users. Your role sits at a nexus of capacity planning, technical planning, site selection, project execution and business analysis.
As the Program Manager, Edge Planning, you are comfortable driving large projects which span several teams and can think critically and strategically about Google as a business and as an operation.

Responsibilities
Participate in long term forecasting, data center capacity planning and capacity planning development. Analyze forecast and ensure appropriate implementation by infrastructure acquisition team.
Act as subject matter expert within ELS. Ensure close relationship with data center resource engineering, networking and other related partner teams.
Collect internal and external data on metro and regional level. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data in order to support roadmaps and drive change.
Create market and regional based long term infrastructure plans. Create corresponding acquisition roadmaps and ensure alignment and communication of ELS’ roadmaps with partner teams’ plans.
Identify process improvements and drive slim lining and improvements of existing processes. Influence and track technical, architecture and policy evolutions of Google’s infrastructure and ensure appropriate implementation by ELS.
