QA Test Engineer
AVP QA Software Engineer to Test and support the Cash Equities Division in the Americas region. QA Engineer focused on delivering high quality software and hands on Manual testing for Equities Trading applications. You will be working on global systems and projects in a collaborative work environment. This role will ideally suit an experienced manual tester with some experience of banking and financial products.
What will you be doing?
•Requires to work closely with Project Leads in the testing of various applications used to support the trading business globally, which include release timeline & management, prioritization of resources and ultimate responsibility to delivery of bug free production release with improved coverage.
•Responsible for testing/supporting across multiple different business flows and regions, including Cash Equities, Program & Single Stock flow– Front, Middle & Back Office systems, International Equities and Listed Options.
•Requires to work closely with Equities Technology peers, including Development Managers, Developer teams, Business Analysts, UAT QA team and NPS staff to ensure requirements and scope are clearly understood prior to start release testing and automation development task.
•Help with creating Automation scripts using Barclays Test harness.
•Act as the central point of contact for High Touch release management, processes improvement, and resource allocation. It includes responsibility for stakeholder opt-in/opt-out of each QA & SIT releases, test plan/cases/scenarios preparation, release & automation sign-off, chair bug review calls and follow ETA across projects, understand and track all Open issues and publish daily EOD test status.
•Full ownership of QA, SIT test environments, timing of code upgrades/deployments and owning static data refreshes in-line with the support of overall testing efforts, resource book of work and planned testing schedule with target timeline.
•Interaction with business analyst, development team and other QA engineers to gather requirements for building test cases.
•Responsible for develop and execute test plans and automated test cases that ensure deliverables are of high quality.
What we’re looking for:
•4+ years college
•4+ years QA experience testing on Unix/Linux OS
•4+ years of experience with trading applications
•Knowledge of Fix protocol
Skills that will help you in the role:
•Write, execute and evaluate an automation book of work, reduce regression timeline and improve the testing coverage – at the system and front to back level
•Strong appreciation or technology or prior background in information technology and QA Process
•Prior experience executing/supporting grey box , white box and Back box testing and prior experience testing/supporting trade capture and risk modeling
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working in an Agile environment.
