Job Description

TeamBuilders Employment & Business Solutions is currently recruiting for a highly skilled and experiencedQA Managerto join a local food processing company in the Fresno, CA area.


This well-respected company takes great pride in the exceptional quality of their consumer packaged goods and the ideal candidate for this role willshare that passion of creating a phenomenal product for the consumer. The QA Manager will be responsible for managing the Quality Assurance department and leading departmental staff on a successful path to achieving and exceeding company objectives for all food safety and quality of products.


The salary range for this full time opportunity is $80K-$110K yearly, DOE. Company offers an excellent benefits package in addition to an outstanding work environment. A background check and drug screen are required upon offer of employment and employment will be contingent upon the results of each.


The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the QA Manager:


- Development, implementation & management of food safety and monitoring programs such as HACCP, GMP, BRC, Pest Control, SSOP, hold and release and product disposition
- Management & supervision of the QA department consisting of 12+ employees which will include scheduling, coordinating staffing of temporary and/or permanent employees, approving timecards, coaching, training and development of all departmental staff
- Administer and manage all quality control test results and provide disposition of finished product to ensure customer specifications are met
- Development, implementation and monitoring all product-related testing and product holds pertaining to quality or food safety issues with direct authority and responsibility for final disposition determination and execution for finished product
- Providing direction for in-process and finished product testing, instrument calibration and environmental testing
- Investigation, tracking and providing resolution for customer inquiries, adjustments and returns
- Development and management of SOPs as they pertain to the QA function and product quality
- Reporting and providing updates on product quality, environmental results and incident activities
- Facilitation of annual staff training in GMP, HACCP, BRC, Allergen, Food Security and other quality and food safety expectations/programs of the quality management system
- Lead efforts involving third-party Customer/Plant Audits in addition to ensuring the team conducts Plant Audits as scheduled and provide follow up to identified issues
- Regular interaction with regulatory compliance agencies such as USDA, etc.
- Collaboration with all departments and management within the company to ensure the smooth operation of the process
- Performs other duties within the Quality Assurance department as assigned


Required Skills, Experience and Education of the QA Manager:


- A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field is required
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a QA Manager or Supervisor within a food manufacturing/processing facility
- HACCP Certification & BRC Certification required
- Must have outstanding experience in QA management principles & procedures, food safety guidelines, microbiology, sanitation, regulatory systems and audits
- Impeccable leadership, communication, customer relations, detail orientation, organizational and time management skills required
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel & Outlook, Time & Attendance software in addition to various software programs used within food processing facilities
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen upon offer of employment
