Receiving Clerks at Caterpillar will be responsible to assist the operation in coordinating material flow and inventory needs, promoting cooperative team relationships and promoting continuous improvement. The candidate should be capable and willing to learn all functions. They will also perform various reconciliation functions relating to inventory control and receipt accuracy of Caterpillar on-hand material, supplier discrepancies and shipment errors. Work location is typically a combination of warehouse and office settings.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Perform and coordinate the receiving, expediting and shipment of customer orders utilizing various systems
• Enter purchase orders and freight charges
• Receive material into the system
• Reconcile various types of shipping and receiving grief
• Work and communicate with various departments and personnel, both internally and externally to satisfy customer and team needs
• Perform related and/or specialized clerical duties and resolve discrepancies as required
• Maintain related clerical records and operate computer terminal to access and update information for receiving, counting and order processing
•Minimum of 1 year experience in material handling/warehouse operations
•Minimum of 1 year shipping/receiving experience
•Forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, order picker and/or tugger experience
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word (basic skills/knowledge – capable of functioning independently)
•Ability to work overtime when required
Top candidates will also have:
•Exposure to MTS, MLCC, PWAF is a plus
•Problem solving and analytical skills
•Strong customer focus internally and externally
•Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment
•Proficient organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, leadership skills and a strong sense of urgency
•Ability to lift 35 lbs
•Must be able to continuously lift and carry material weighing up to 35 pounds. Also must be able to walk, squat and bend as part of their expected daily activity.

On April 15, 2019, Caterpillar, Inc. and Weiler, Inc. signed the definitive agreement to sell Caterpillar’s purpose-built forestry business. This agreement follows the preliminary agreement between the two companies, which was previously announced on August 29, 2018. The closing is expected to occur in the summer of 2019. This role will be hired as Caterpillar, but upon the closing of the sale, will transition to Weiler, Inc.
