Check out all there is to do:Seekinga Registered Nurse (RN) to work inthe Surgical ICU to serve as theleader of the Nursing Care team who is ultimately responsible and accountableto the patient for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation ofpatient focused, outcome oriented care.Will develop competencies for functioning safely in all areas ofMedical/Surgical services.
What you will do inthis role: Throughassessment of the patient s physical, nutritional, psychosocial, spiritual,emotional, cultural, educational, and rehabilitative needs, problems areidentified and documented in the clinical record and communicated to thephysician, case manager, and ancillary departments when appropriateAppropriatestandards of care, care plans, and interventions are initiated, professionallymodified, and communicated to the patient and other members of the healthcareteamAbleto demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based onphysical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate tothe following age groups: pediatric,children, adolescent, adult, geriatricProvidespatient/family health education that promotes healthy behaviors, supportsrecovery, and enables the patient/family to be involved in decisions abouttheir own careThepatient s responses to interventions and progress toward desired outcomes areassessed, re-assessed, evaluated, and documented in the clinical recordPatientcare activities are coordinated through collaboration and planning with othermembers of the healthcare teamPhysiciansorders are carried out accurately and efficiently, and clarified when necessaryAdverseor sudden changes in the patient s conditions are promptly communicated to thephysician, charge nurse, nursing supervisor, and/or family with specific andpertinent dataAbleto identify potential or actual victims of abuse and understands the properreporting mechanismAbleto recognize adverse drug reactions and demonstrates understanding of properreporting mechanism once reaction is identifiedAppropriatelyassesses the patient s pain and involves the patient in effective management ofthat pain using appropriate interventionsAbleto demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for administration of bloodand blood products and appropriately monitors the patient receiving blood/bloodproducts for any transfusion reaction; takes proper measures once a reaction isrecognizedPatientcare equipment is utilized safely and efficiently in accordance with hospitalpolicies and proceduresStandardprecautions are promoted and followed in the utilization of principles ofinfection control in patient careAchievesstated goals related to job performanceEducationalattendance records reveal attendance at all required educationalprograms/in-servicesQualifications What qualificationsyou will need:Graduateof a Nursing Program from an accredited schoolCurrentlylicensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of LouisianaCPRfor Healthcare Providers to be completed within 30 days of hireACLSto be completed within 30 days of hire*SignOn Bonuses are based on qualifying criteria Current employees not eligiblePlease see your Recruiter for details.Be a part of an organization thatinvests in you.
