Maintenance Technician Job Description







Plant Maintenance Technicians are responsible for safely maintaining a high level of equipment reliability, to achieve efficient and consistent production flow with defined quality standards. The position requires a thorough understanding of the plants automated systems, control schemes, and equipment operations. This work entails a combination of equipment set-up, operator training, preventative maintenance, continuous improvements, modifications/installations, trouble shooting and repairs on manufacturing equipment, electrical/electronic and mechanical systems.
















Principal Accountabilities:

Adhere to all safety, GMP’s, sanitation standards and Q&FS.
Follow regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules, and provide coverage to ensure immediate response to emergencies, diagnose faults quickly and make immediate repairs.
Communicate with oncoming shift technicians and managers, as well as maintenance system technicians any issues or ongoing problems with equipment.
Functional Accountabilities:

Replace machine components as necessary.
Troubleshoot complex automated systems and equipment.
Install and repair power transmission equipment and components.
Troubleshoot electrical controls, motor circuits, process equipment.
Understand, repair and calibrate control systems and PID loops, able to use a computer to assess the status of electrical circuits, and relate I/O conditions to control system component status..
Install, diagnose programmable controllers and instrumentation.
Understand, troubleshoot and repair general plant utility systems.
Use all hand and power tools of the trade.
