The Researcher I works as part of the Media Operations Team and is responsible for curation of all archival assets and associated metadata and provides support for finding archived material to Golf Channel employees and partners. In addition, the position provides technical support for logger and MediaCentral UX users.
Fulfill research requests for archival footage made by internal and external Golf partners
Assist in developing new research offerings for partners including reference reels and melts.
Perform data adjustments on historical data to normalize search within the system.
Perform other data manipulation functions as necessary.
Maintain a working knowledge of all archival systems and how to locate and restore materials stored in them
Provide troubleshooting and general support for partners for logger and MediaCentral UX
Keep up to date and have deep knowledge of the Golf archive and golf history
Manage Metadata in an Avid Interplay Production and Avid MAM environment
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Understanding of live and post production workflows in a file based production and archive environment.
Working knowledge of video assets and related metadata
Working knowledge of Boolean search and terminology
Understanding of video logging workflow
Candidate must have good communication skills
Candidate must be professional, resourceful, effective, and exact
Candidate must be able to prioritize and execute on multiple assigned deliverables
Candidate must show a high degree of initiative and collegiality
Candidate must have the ability to engage third party vendors, engineering and other Golf partners as required

Candidate must be available Sunday through Thursday, 10am – 7pm with flexibility in schedule due to event coverage and other staffing needs
Degree in Communications, Library, or Information Science
Experience providing archival and/or research support
Experience in broadcast or post production facility; preference given to sports related production
Experience with archival and media asset management systems; preference given to experience with Avid MAM and/or MediaCentral UX
Experience with Avid related systems including Media Composer, Avid Interplay and Avid Access
Experience providing video logging, archival, and/or research support
