What you’ll be doing...
Provide clear 4G and 5G design guidance for Nokia, Samsung, and Ericsson products through the research of 3GPP standards, upcoming/existing RAN equipment, and understanding of business direction.
Partner with functional experts to deliver standards and solutions that compliment all areas of network engineering.
Deliver health reports to provide visibility into design issues and implement solutions to address them.
Work with MTCE to facilitateEast Territory RF FOA’s. Communicate lessons learned to submarkets and incorporate those into future guidance documents.
Increase efficiency through software development and creating new ways to automate processes and reporting.
Collaborate with team members and Submarkets to standardize design configurations, equipment, and processes.
Work as a team with the Submarket Engineers, HQ, and Territory peers to create best practice guidelines from their input.
Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Lead and evolve/ standardize processes for all network teams.
Participate in the Submarket reviews. Observe the regional challenges and concerns so that we can provide better support.
Develop the logic to forecast RAN equipment network needs. Apply the definition to give project priority guidance to the Submarkets.
Validate offload assumptions in order to improve the accuracy of our offload projections.
Work with RF and Engineering to identify ways in which we can deploy solutions more cost effectively and faster. Develop strategies that will reduce cost and timeframes.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel overnight.
Even better if you have:
Five or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
Exceptional leadership, technical expertise; a technical expert in RF Design, Performance, and Traffic with the ability to drive projects to completion.
Extensive experience and knowledge in 5G, LTE, CDMA and EVDO networks and their performance.
Knowledge of equipment operations and network standards. Demonstrated proficiency in engineering and operations of Nokia, Samsung, and/or Ericsson equipment. In depth knowledge of equipment capacity and future capabilities.
Ability to develop reports and manipulate information using Tableau.
Strong working knowledge of Atoll, TrueCall, Fuze modules, VPI and other RF/Performance tools.
Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; capability to communicate internally, upward, and cross functionally; ability to interface with cross-functional team members to gain support required to accomplish assignments; ability to build coalitions and strong presentation skills.
Excellent analytic skills with the capability to make appropriate use of all available information and data.
Ability to diagnose and correct various system and interworking problems and provide simple and effective summary recommendations.
Ability to self-educate in new telecom technologies, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, ability to multitask, good time management skills, and ability to thrive in dynamic environment.
Knowledge of network capacity and performance, and ability to prepare network plans.
Demonstrated a high level of accountability, ownership and sense of urgency.
Knowledge of wireless systems, digital communication, and traffic engineering.
Proficiency in mapping software.
Ability to adapt communication style to setting.
Ability to investigate and implement alternate approaches to resolve difficult problems.
