This individual will work with the Assistant Director to support our network of retired PPEDD’s in complying with the Independence requirements. The position will involve direct interaction with retired PPEDD’s and the use of various internal independence research and compliance tools.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Support the internal review of permissibility for inquiries by our former or retired partners and principals for prospective employment, consultation and expert witness engagements. Also conduct initial assessments of the permissibility of accepting Board of Director roles.
Support the review of former or retired US partners or principals for associations with prospective assurance clients and communicating results to Independence team.
Support the Retired and Former Partner & Principal Confirmation mailing, including coordination of mailings, review of results and posting of results to internal applications.
Update and maintain database of requests from former or retired partners and principals.
Support the monthly reconciliation of various Rabbi Trust arrangements to EY financial systems and producing monthly status reporting
Support the periodic review of former or retired partner affiliations with EY assurance clients.
Provide assistance with special reports and projects, as requested.
Analytical/ Decision making Responsibilities:
The role requires strong analytical skills and independent thinking. Individual needs to be able to obtain information from both interviews and internal applications and then compile and analyze data.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Requires excellent communication skills – individual will be a primary point of contact with our network of former or retired partners and principals.
Knowledge of various independence rules will be required (but can be developed through training).
Expected to work independently with limited supervision. From time to time, may involve use of resources from other groups, including GDS.
Individual will be required to be on-site in Secaucus, NJ to perform most job functions. Some flexibility may be possible. Overtime is not regularly required, but will be periodic and not always predictable.
To qualify, candidates must have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Approximately 2-3 years of experience
