Position Summary:

Lead the operations of the salad bar to ensure an unprecedented customer shopping experience, promote sales and achieve profit margins and labor goals by focusing on quality and freshness. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:

Ensure well-trained employees open and close the department according to standard operating procedures.
Organize backroom and refrigeration to store weekly deliveries and ensure proper temperatures of coolers.
Ensure preliminary/final inspections occur on all salad bar products; ensure storage and code dating standard operating procedures are adhered to for all products.
Ensure the proper types and amounts of materials, supplies and merchandise are ordered and stocked.
Operate equipment (e.g., knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines.
Manage the process for price changes and in-store transfers.
Ensure that all products are culled daily to promote quality and freshness for sale; ensure removal/disposal of un-sellable product from the sales floor.
Ensure proper cold chain procedure is adhered to at all times; this includes delivery to the store, storage, stocking, and holding on the sales floor.
Follow all merchandising guidelines, including display models, signage, and product packaging.
Perform stocking duties, ensuring correct placement of stock and refilling of salad bar displays.
Understand standard operating procedures and the training manual, and convey the document details to subordinates.
Understand the importance of customer service and interpersonal communication.
Develop or assist in developing the department schedule.
Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequently using hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls, sitting, reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lifting/moving objects up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:

High school diploma or general education degree, 1+ years’ retail experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
Friendly, approachable and outgoing demeanor/team player
Sound judgement/decision making skills
Strong math skills (e.g., calculate discounts, proportions, percentages)
Basic algebra and geometry skills (e.g., calculate circumferences, volume)
Ability to read/interpret documents (e.g., training manuals)
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers/employees
Education Level: Associates Desired
