Proposed Start DateEstimated Duration of Appointment6 months not to exceed 11 monthsPosting Open Date11/08/2019Posting Close Date11/15/2019Description of WorkThe Scheduling Coordinator manages room reservations and technical event needs across School of Medicine programs and spaces and identifies appropriate space for SOM faculty, staff, and students including;
• Size and location
• Furniture and arrangement
• Appropriate technology to accommodate pedagogical methods
The Scheduling Coordinator manages the day-to-day space scheduling of many SOM programs and helps to plan and organize activities, including coordinating technical support needs between the user and SOM IT resources.

This position often serves as the initial program contact and offers consults on the SOM IT scheduling service and software tools that are available through the program, as well as additional technical support services offered.

This position also serves as a liaison between SOM IT and Planning, Facilities, and Environmental Services, keeping spaces in good working order by escalating issues and coordinating their resolution while keeping in communication with affected SOM users.
This work requires detailed knowledge of the various SOM programs, detailed knowledge of scheduling policies and guidelines, as well as a working knowledge of applicable technology integrated across SOM spaces.

Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This position requires the highest level of customer service skills with the ability to work with a diverse customer base, including academics, researchers, Senior SOM Leadership, technical staff and event planners. This position requires strong software skills and a high level of organization, planning, and communication skills.
