Securities Settlements Java Developer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an AVP Java Developer role in our Post Trade Technology team. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing the Java server side components in a highly technology focused environment.
The role is of an experienced Java developer and is required to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of a highly distributed application using technologies like (but not limited to) core Java, Spring, Camel, REST services and SQL Server and / or Oracle. You will be required to collaborate with technology and business teams with an agile approach. The team offers flexible working and is based at our state of the art Whippany campus.
What will you be doing?
•Design, develop and improve fundamental technical features such as messaging, release engineering, caching, failover and alerting, using Java and related technologies and Design and implement server-side business functions in Java.
•Take part in technical preparations for global releases
•Communicate with the global development team, escalate issues on time.
•Ensure consistent high code quality through unit and integration testing.
•Evaluate performance, suggest and implement improvements and contribute to process improvements.
•Work closely with QA, UAT and application support teams in getting the code tested, released and supported.
•Troubleshoot performance and functional problems on development, testing and production environments.
•Support and troubleshoot any production queries and issues (3rd line support for the overall system)
What we’re looking for:
•B.S or equivalent degree with 4 years of education
•4+ years of Core Java server side programming, including Multi-threading and Performance Tuning and 4+ years J2EE, app servers like JBOSS
•4+ years of experience on Messaging framework (Solace, MQ )
•4+ Years Relational Database Development experience (Oracle, SQL Server, and/or Sybase)
Skills that will help you in the role:
•2+ years Agile experience, particularly Scrum.
•3+ years experience Managing and developing client-server or distributed, multithreaded applications in Java
•Very strong understanding of object oriented design/ development.
•Cloud technologies: aPaas, OpenShift, AWS
•Camel and Spring framework, microservice architecture
•Experience in related technologies (e.g. maven, JMS, Spring, …)
•Understanding of middleware technologies, either Solace / TIBCO RV / JMS etc
