Senior Department Administrator II.PathologyLocation: New Orleans, LA

SummaryThe School of Medicine Department of Pathology's Senior Department Administrator II is a leadership position accountable for achieving the Department and School of Medicine's missions and vision of teaching, research, and patient care. In addition to an understanding of academics and research, a broad scope of knowledge with understanding of clinical practice management and medical school training programs is required. The Senior Department Administrator is responsible for developing and directing the long-range strategic business plan with the Chair. This includes preparation of business analyses, program expansions, implementation plans for new programs, and the design and implementation of changes to existing programs. The Senior Department Administrator is responsible for overall financial aspects of the department, to include, but not limited to preparing the annual budget and monitoring progress, preparing monthly financial reports, and ensuring clinical and research compliance. The administrator is responsible for the human resources of the department including supervision of department staff.


Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with three years relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience;


OR


- High school diploma or equivalent with nine years relevant experience in management accounting, planning, finance, computer operations, and personnel management, to include supervisory experience


Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related areas such as MBA, Finance, Accounting, MHA or other related field
- Health care/physician practice management
- Budget development and how to manage operations to budget
- Contract management experience
- Pathology management experience
