Who You’ll Work With

The Cisco Network Assurance Engine is a powerful operational tool to run intent-based data center networks, ensuring correctness of operations using various modeling and formal verification techniques, as well as providing cost-saving workflows for common Day N operations. 

The team consists of engineers and researchers in core software, UI, UX, Big Data, Full stack, Formal, Mathematical modeling, as well as policy, security and other networking domain, drawn from academia, industry and several Big Data companies. We are primarily located in San Jose.

What You’ll Do
We're looking for a hands-on SR DevOps Software Engineer to join our DevOps team, to build and enhance CI/CD tools and processes for multiple teams working on the product. Responsibilities include:
·       Drive CI/CD tools and processes towards modern development principles and methodologies
·       Analyze the existing system, and work with stakeholders to propose enhancements for speed, correctness, ease of use, upgrades and improvements
·       Take ownership to drive execution within a small team of smart engineers who are focused on continual improvement of skills and learning new things.
·       Develop and maintain tooling to assist with things like integration tests, performance tooling, build environments, CI systems, source control etc. 
·       Do hands-on implementation, as well as lead the evolution of the platform 
·       Strong governance of CI/CD pipeline, with prompt handling of breakages
·       Automate all toil (recurring tasks that don’t improve with manual repetition)
·       Constantly prioritize and dispense with day to day work items
·       Use current cutting-edge technologies while testing bleeding-edge technologies for future use
·       Understand roadmap towards SaaS delivery and prepare tools and processes for that
Who You Are
Required technical skills:
Modern DevOps approach for software delivery, including continuous integration, automated regressions and continuous delivery
Git, Jenkins with pipeline DSL, cmake, Maven, Ansible, Artifactory
Java, Python, bash scripting, YAML/JSON
In-depth knowledge of Linux, including packaging tools (yum/rpm or similar)
Hypervisor / container mgmt. tools like VMWare, RedHat, Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, etc
Networking, storage, security and sysadmin
Tuning for performance and scale
Desired technical skills:
Ansible, Chef or Puppet
Databases like MongoDB and Elastic
Micro-services and associated services like Kafka
Cloud technologies and cloud providers like AWS and Azure
General abilities:
Strong sense of ownership and urgency
Creative, strategic and critical thinker with high attention to detail
Juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines
Keep a cool head in crises and instill confidence in others
Lead others within own team, as well as across teams as needed
Hands-on development with strong design and coding practices

Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS degree in CS/EE with 10+ years of experience
