ARIZONA JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Senior Network Engineer DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: IT FACILITY LOCATION: Edison, New Jersey REPORTS TO: Director of Infrastructure SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE (Basic purpose of job) The Network Engineer will be primarily responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of our corporate and production line networking environment.
Qualified candidates must have significant on the job Cisco and Meraki experience along with related experience in Infrastructure / Networked environments with hardware (routers, switches, firewall, etc.), software (IOS and NXOS), network security practices, designing, planning and implementing LAN / WANs using the industry standard technologies.
The candidate should drive continuous improvement and growth of the company through strong skills and experience in data network technologies: EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, VPN, and ISE.
The candidate must be able to see projects through all stages, including defining requirements, drafting and presenting technical proposals, deploying, maintaining and documenting the best solutions.
The candidate must be able to design, maintain and execute a future term strategic road map for the corporate network (processes, technology, security). A strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork will be required.
This position will require 24x7 on-call support along with off-hours maintenance work when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Implement and maintain existing LAN / WAN (L2/L3, spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling), remote VPN software, network control protocols (QOS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP), and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA) Provide support for all network and data communication issues including private and internet circuits, routing protocols, VPN connectivity, WAN optimization, hardware, and 3rd party vendor connectivity Research networking issues and products as required and leverage critical thinking skills to evaluate all possible solutions while using appropriate judgment in applying effective resolutions Prepare complex network designs for new and existing projects, sites, network upgrades, network expansions, and disaster recovery setups with a focus on Cisco for core network requirements Properly address and prioritize tasks based on urgent and site needs and manage appropriate/realistic expectations to ensure overall client satisfaction Responsible for configuring IPSec VPN tunnels, IP communication, and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) Leverage a strong knowledge of equipment, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency Develop and deploy scalable solutions for both LAN / WAN Identify, research, evaluate and implement emerging network technologies Maintain and manage the corporate and production line network Responsible for configuration, installation and maintenance and in-depth troubleshooting tasks and documenting any network issues.
Manage multiple vendors and technologies Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with vendors Escalation of problems as appropriate to management.
Support during and after network cut-overs and change to the environment Other responsibilities as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 7+ years of experience with enterprise level network design and deployment CCIE certification preferred 7+ years of experience with Cisco 9000 series switches and Nexus IOS 5+ years of experience with Meraki Wireless and Switch Infrastructure Experience with Cisco Firepower and Identity Services Engine, Anyconnect / Firepower configuration Proficient in routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, iBGP, MPLS Thorough understanding of IP concepts including routing, VLANs, Port Channeling, QoS, tuning and capacity management concepts.
